Kanye West X Anja Rubik's 25 Magazine
For the launch of Anja Rubik’s new magazine, 25, photographer and director Barnaby Roper teamed up with Kanye West to make a video dedicated to the issue’s theme of eroticism. Rubik knew West from bumping into him at various fashion events over the years, and they became close friends when he started working on his clothing line (she’s since opened both of his runway shows, and he rapped about her in “Way Too Cold”). “He’s like a machine, not only with music but also with fashion and videos,” Rubik told us earlier this week. “He’s a workaholic, and always talking about all these crazy thoughts and images running through his head.”
When Rubik was putting together the first issue of 25, she and West discussed how she wanted the magazine to approach sex. “It’s funny. We talked about porn looks these days, and he agreed with me that there’s no porn out there that is beautiful aesthetically and integrates fashion to make a beautiful image,” she explained. “We were on the same page about a lot of things.” He agreed to work with Roper in a video that explores some of the sensual imagery from the magazine. “I thought it would be really interesting to make it seem like we were entering Kanye’s head,” Rubik said. “It’s not pornographic, but it’s very sensual.”

National Weather Service Smartphone Alerts
I know I've said it many times before and I'm sure you have heard others say too, cell phones rule the world. Nowadays its a must to always have a phone on you for several different reasons: friends, family, safety, etc. On a side note, if it wasn't for cell phones then Batman could have never beat The Joker in The Dark Knight. But on to important things, the National Weather Service is giving us another very important reason to always have your cell phone near by. The only catch is you got to have a smartphone.
That very important reason is so that you can receive wireless emergency weather alerts straight to your phone. This was created with those people who may not have the radio or television on in mind. The alerts will be in form of a free text message and will let you know from anything from flash floods to dust storms, which depending on where you live can be considered a lifesaver.
“These alerts will make sure people are aware of any impending danger and provide them with the information needed so they can be safe until the threat is over,” said Amy Storey, spokeswoman for CTIA-The Wireless Association, the trade group that helped set up the system.
Verizon, Spirit, and T-Mobile will have the service nationwide while AT&T will only have the sevice in New York City, Washington DC & Portland for the time being.

Spike Lee: Red Hook Summer Official Trailer
Another Spike Lee Brooklyn based film is on deck and set for release this Summer. For this film Spike Lee got helping hand from several NYU students and obtained a cast of really a couple no names a few up and coming, not to mention the entire film was independently funded and took 18 days to film. The movie is about a black kid from Atlanta who has to stay with his granddad in the Red Hook projects of Brooklyn for his summer vacation. At first its not as cool as it seemed but as the season changes so does his outlook on it all:
