Directed by Adam Shankman, written by Justin Theroux, Chris D'Arienzo and Allen Loeb. Rock Of Ages was a great movie but at the at the same time some what of a let down. Just because from the trailers you would think it is all about Tom Cruise, or TC as Kanye West likes to call him, but he really wasn't all throughout the movie like that. Actually when I think about Mary J Blige might have been in more scenes than Tom Cruise. Don't get me wrong Julianne though and Diego Boneta did a great job with their lead roles of Sherrie Christian and Drew Boley, its just like I said the hype was a little misleading.
Besides their marketing schemes the movie was dope. It was like Greece meets High School Musical but with Rock N Roll and drugs mixed in with it all. With the location being Los Angeles and during the late 80's you really see the good, bad and ugly of being young and choosing your dreams in LA. Plus you should already know that everything becomes complicated when love is involved.
One thing I did enjoy about this movie is how it shows no matter how successful you become you still have same things in common with that young man/women who just started trying to get where you at. Another thing that I've sort of noticed is how when you really break it down, Hip-Hop is the new Rock N Roll [And I'm a end it on that note]
