I started to watch “Say Yes to the Dress- Atlanta” on a friend's recommendation. She knew that I was born in South Carolina, which is close enough to Atlanta, to be able to enjoy all the Southern euphoniums and the family values that are shown on the show. She also knew that I would love Monte, the fashion director of Lori's shop. So, every week when I watch this show on my new satellite TV (and don't get me started on my whole cable vs satellite tvdebacle), I often wonder why I moved away from the South.
Monte is so hilarious and sweet with his southern charm and bright personality. He could brighten a rabid raccoon's day with a smile. He is awesome at his job, which is to help the bride find her perfect gown, even when the family does not agree. He has some very subtle qualities that make him great for his job and handling the stubborn family. He can tell within an instant how hard the family will fight over the gown and exactly who he will need to persuade to get the bride's gown that she wants. He often employs a “Shock and Awe” approach to getting the family on board with the bride's choice of gowns. He will show her in something that is completely different from what she wants, and then show her in the gown she wants and the family will pick that one.
